A Brief History

Nicholas Pattison completed two new package designs for Bread Alone Bakery a half-hour before this was written. Before that, he had a black coffee to get the day started and sent out new web design concepts for The New York Distiling Company. Two years before that, he was working for Milton Glaser in a small studio in midtown Manhattan, designing whatever it was that Milton magnetically drew to him. Quite a while before that, he was a member of Paula Scher’s design team at Pentagram, working closely with clients at Citibank, Powerade, and the Metropolitan Opera. Before that, he received a master’s degree in design from Pratt Institute, having previously earned a bachelor’s degree from Bard College, where he studied art and East Asian philosophy; played on some incredibly successful (and unsuccessful) basketball, soccer, and tennis teams; and discovered his love of design. All of the above occurred after he was born in 1980 and grew up in the artistically inclined little town of Woodstock, New York.
